Quarantine Lessons

Image
Quarantine Lessons Muttontown Preserve 2020 has been the year of many negative and positive events. During quarantine people played trial and error with many new hobbies. Such as, yoga, bike riding, cooking, cleaning, becoming pet owners, online shopping and so much more. For me personally I found my love for outdoor activities, like hiking, bike riding and my favorite, yoga and meditation practice. With all of the stress 2020 has brought to my family and I, I found that being outdoors made me feel full inside. I began to go hiking with my sister around Long Island to preserves and parks that we never knew existed . There are so many beautiful hidden gems right here on the island. Meditation practices are a very relaxing practice for soothing your mind and body. I believe it is so important to be in touch with your mind and body to understand your yourself from within. For myself, meditation takes me to a place of relaxation and becomes an escape from reality.   Since I am now

Onyx

Onyx was born on October 19th, 2018 and settled into her new home with me on December 23rd, 2018. She is a mixed breed of Boston Terrior and Chuhuahua. She has  large  ears  compared  to her  tiny  body and a  loud   bark  the neighborhood can hear. When Onyx was born, she had all black shiny fur   and looked like a mini black teddy bear. As time went by she began to develop a beautiful brindle color all over her body.  Her name was chosen because of my love for crystals. There are many different types of crystals but the crystal, Onyx worked perfect for her. It is mostly black with spots of brown throughout the surface and is very shiny. The color of the crystal made me even more excited to choose the name for her. The Onyx crystal means to absorb and protect against negative energy. I think the name is great because I combined two things that I love. Vocabulary: Brindle: brownish or tawny with streaks of other color Compare(ed): to look for a similarity or difference  Bark(s): The

Best & Worst Experiences

Image
The Best & The Worst Thinking back on life, there are always the best, the worst and the most embarrassing experiences we always remember. We all go through experiences that teach us lessons to guide us into future experiences. We have no choice in life to experience different events that happen throughout our lifetime. But, it is up to us to either laugh about it, cry about it, or learn from it, or do all three. One of my best experiences I remember was winning 2nd place at the National Championship College Cheerleading Competition in Disney. I remember anxiously holding hands with my teammates, while bowing our heads and hoping for our name to be called. This was just our second year ever competing in the national competition. We were a program that was being built on little experience but great determination . The overwhelming feeling of joy from our hard work paying off is a feeling I could never forget.        Another feeling that I could never forget was the sudden

Embarrassing Much!

Experiences can be laughable moments too, especially when you are around good company. My two close girl friends and I went to Atlantic City for a weekend trip. While there I began to get a stuffy nose and sore throat from sleeping under the hotel air condition. On the second day I woke up with a full on cold. I had a runny nose, watery eyes and sore throat, but I wanted to tough it out for the girls weekend. When we went to dinner we were full of laughs and giggles as always. At the dinner table my friend said something unexpectedly hilarious and I laughed so hard snot flew out of my nose. My two friends started to laugh uncontrollably at me because they couldn’t believe what they just saw. I felt like that entire restaurant saw what happened and I felt completely embarrassed. But of course I could not stop laughing at the whole experience of an accidental “snot rocket” in the middle of our dinner. Thank goodness I was with my two closest girl friends and not on a date.
